Welcome to the Kasambya Parish website.

Kasambya is a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hoima in Uganda. Hoima Diocese covers the districts of Hoima, Kikuube, Buliisa, Kiryandongo, Masindi, Kibaale, Kagadi, and Kakumiro in mid-western Uganda. Kasambya Parish is in Kakumiro District, which is located approximately 200 kilometers northwest of the capital city, Kampala.

The parish is part of the Bukuumi Deanery in Kibaale Catholic Vicariate, which is one of the five Vicariates in Hoima Catholic Diocese. The main church of Kasambya Parish is St. Joseph Balikuddembe Catholic Church located near Kasambya Trading Centre and is the mother to several Catholic sub-parish churches. The parish also has a number of Catholic founded schools, including Kasambya Primary School and St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Kasambya.

Kasambya Parish is a strong Catholic rural community of low-income families whose main economic activity is subsistence agriculture. The main crops grown in the area include maize, bananas, beans, groundnuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes. There are several small markets in the area, where local traders sell their produce and other goods.
