About us

Kasambya Parish is an important center of Catholicism in the Kakumiro District of Uganda. The parish is served by several Catholic priests, who provide pastoral care to the local community. The parish also has a number of catechists, who are trained lay leaders responsible for providing religious education and spiritual guidance to the faithful.

In addition to the churches and schools, Kasambya Parish has a health center, which provides basic medical care to the local population. The health center is staffed by trained nurses and midwives, and offers services such as antenatal care, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses.

The people of Kasambya Parish are predominantly of the Banyoro ethnic group, which is one of the largest ethnic groups in Uganda. The Banyoro are known for their agricultural practices, and farming is the main source of livelihood for most people in the parish. In addition to subsistence farming, some families also engage in small-scale animal husbandry, such as keeping goats and chickens.

The parish has a strong sense of community, and local residents often come together to participate in social and cultural events. Traditional dances and songs are an important part of the local culture, and are often performed at weddings, funerals, and other celebrations.

Despite its rural location, Kasambya Parish has access to basic infrastructure such as electricity, clean water, and paved roads. The parish is also connected to the wider world through mobile phones and the internet, which are becoming increasingly common in rural areas of Uganda.
